Mastectomies, Scars, Stretch Marks

This is a vulnerable and sensitive space for both the client and myself. We venture into a space that is a place of honor, respect and in some ways celebration. The process of enhancing the body with tattoos does not physically heal or change the texture of the scar but it does contribute to the internal healing process. The honoring or healing and the physical and emotional process does not change the body to deny that the scar, stretch mark or mastectomy is there. Rather, I have found that when people have decided to get a tattoo it is the culmination of the inner work that they have done in regard to this life changing health event. These are some examples of the work I have done. Some additional work I have done are with folks with burn scars or amputations for which due to the sensitivity and being in the moment of these experiences, photos were not on my mind.
